Rhadamanthus

05. Former Reverie Vineyard

Are you kidding me? Look at this place, 30-year-old vines, never been sold outside of Reverie—this vineyard's untapped. We gotta do this.” –Nigel Kinsman

Former Reverie Vineyard—Diamond MTN
Cabernet Blend

Rhadamanthus, the ancient king whose name is derived from the Greek ‘adamas’ (‘invincible, untamed’), has much in common with our Diamond Mountain cabernet. Its origin is the former Reverie property—an old, terraced vineyard drenched in sunlight at 800 feet elevation that produces wild, indomitable wines.

“Layers of nuanced black fruits and earthy flavors framed by firm, grainy tannins and compelling freshness, finishing with epic persistence.”

06. The Relationship

Diamond Mountain is a place of extremes: small landholdings and homes set against a rugged, undulating landscape, a steep departure from the tame Valley floor below. Likewise, its wines—dense, muscular, esoteric even—are more cerebral, undoubtedly intended for the long haul. Just the way we like them.

At the former Reverie vineyard, contoured vine rows cling to frighteningly steep slopes of decomposed volcanic ash.
